Although I claimed it anyway. Worst case scenario is that they catch it some time down the road and make me pay it back. I will have made more on that money than the IRS will charge me in interest.
I also think it is bullcrap that Carol at the local Home Depot can deduct her OT but I can't.
Or worse, that a 22.3 or full-time inside employee here at UPS, the same company I work for, can deduct their OT but I can't just because I drive.
You guys will probably be okay, as most government agencies have been DOGE'd to the bare bones, so there won't be the resources available necessary to audit all the erroneous deductions made by UPS drivers this year.
