I'm wondering what exactly the union did.The wording in the Separation Contract hasnt changed.I've seen many Teamster posts saying how "strong" the agreement is. Man, they use the word "strong" every freakin post!Have they dropped the arbitration against the last buyout? That would be significant for this agreement.The only change I've seen is the buyout being "capped" (their word) to 7,500 drivers versus the 10,000 UPS wanted. AND they have an agreement that UPS wont offer any more buyouts during this contract.
It was actually quite strong at least what a UPS agreed to
The wording in your signed contract no longer is valid because the union has agreed and the company has negotiated.
The company also agreed to create thousands of new jobs and no longer drag their feet like they were.
If you were approved, that money is safely yours now. Those that may not have received the buyout erroneously because seniority was not followed, can file grievances and go through the grievance procedure unlike they were going to be able to previously.
That is actually strong. Because before that you had nothing.
