@johney said ↗Well if you're talking overtime pay of course not, but regular salary? They do here. Our business agent are no longer UPS employees they work strictly for the Union hall, now did they work at UPS at one time? Sure. Three stewards I know of left to work full time for the Local. One a few years before I left to do social networking and the other two took the last buyout and are now business agents. Stewards here take time away from their job to do the political stuff and memberships drives, etc and get their regular UPS pay when finished they go back to their jobs.We have had retired members who are business agents that no longer work ups but. most of them still are on leave. If they’re retired and they don’t win an election, they don’t have a job anymore. They just go to retirement. And again, if I go out of town on Union business for hearing or something like that, I make 40 hours at my regular pay rate.I probably average about 52 hours a week sometimes as many as 60 depending on a week. That’s still technically my regular salary but obviously with no overtime so a paycut. I don’t know anybody at UPS. They only get 40 hours. And yes, when I’m finished with that week, I go back to my regular job of course Another little known fact is that anyone in team care, their local has a lower level of insurance. Pays a little less deductibles are a little higher. Every executive board would have to decide if they’re losing members if they can continue to have on as many business agents as they do so some business agents may not have a job and will be going back to their UPS job, especially in the smaller locals that can barely get by now. That’s happening everywhere. And the reason in the past, we’ve had retired members being business agents is because they couldn’t find anyone who is willing to take the pay cut and come out to the Union hall. That went along with all the hassle that comes with it.everywhere.
