there were also a couple quotes from Jesus where he seemed to go against some of the teachings in the Old Testament though, like when they criticized him for eating without washing hands, and going against their leaders or teachers, so it seemed to me from the little I’ve read that he was saying it’s like a “new start”.
im still confused by the relationship though, seems like a pretty big discrepancy in beliefs
He was trying to tell them that he represented a new covenant. External cleansing and purification meant nothing, we are all unclean, nothing can change that except the free gift of Gods grace. Which he sacrificed himself to give us.
