Anytime things have significantly changed over the last five or so years at least, I can't really think of any that have been for the better.

The spending is so huge it’s hard to conceptualize, and with it being taken automatically out of our paychecks makes it more so
20% of taxes goes towards interest. I work hard and live within in my means and make a point to pay off my credit card every month so I don’t spend interest, it really pisses me off that our government can’t do the same. But we keep spending and spending and spending.
And now we’re spending more. 6% increase in 2026 WHILE cutting taxes for the rich and corporations. It’s not sustainable and we’re fucking over ourselves in the future.
