And the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), the Crown corporation that helped many Canadian businesses enter the Cuban market, has stopped assisting and encouraging new entries.
Canada is the second highest investor in Cuba after Spain.

It has always been a failed state that was propped up by the Soviets, then the Venezuelans. They produce nothing but cigars, they used their army as mercenaries in Africa, they harbor terrorists and criminals. They can’t even provide their population with power, quality housing, genuine healthcare, jobs, etc. By any definition, they are a failure. They chose poorly.

Cherfilus-McCormick — who allegedly purchased a huge diamond ring with the stolen funds — could face years in prison if convicted. Her criminal trial is currently scheduled to begin next month in Miami.
But Cherfilus-McCormick’s more pressing political concern is Thursday’s upcoming “trial” within the House Ethics Committee. This is a rare procedure that underscores the seriousness of the alleged violations. Expulsion is a real possibility for Cherfilus-McCormick if convicted, according to multiple Democratic lawmakers and aides.
