It'll be a lie if Trump says a deal is moving forward. "A whole civilization will die tonight" is a threat Iran can't stand down from unless they get absolute guarantees that this thing is over. And they won't get that from Trump because we've accomplished things militarily but not strategically. Maybe that was the whole idea.

The dirty little secret is…… Neither side is going to be able to work out a “deal”. It appears to be all of nothing at this point for both sides. The United States cannot lose this war because it would destroy our economy and our world standing. Iran to not lose because they will cease to exist in their current state.

Iran is fighting this war asymmetrically.
I’m not even certain we can take and hold kharg island. How do we get supplies to these soldiers even if they take that island? And how do we defend against random and frequent drone attacks slaughtering them?
We won’t even get into the difficulty you actually boots on the ground in the country of Iran that has some of the most difficult terrain in the world.

Perhaps that’s why a civilian target full of school children was taken out at the very beginning of the war to show that the US and Israel have no problem with civilian deaths if necessary. Scary thought but….,.

Couldn’t tell you never been in that situation.
I’m sure those people are terrified.
Would’ve made more sense to me to make an appeal to the people of Iran that we’re coming and we want them on our side. Maybe that message gets through maybe it doesn’t I don’t know. But I can promise you, Trump telling the world he’s going to destroy the whole civilization of Iran was probably broadcast on every state media news channel in Iran to rally for nationalism of their own.

Honestly, I’m a little more pragmatic about this war than most people.
I think, regardless of who was in charge eventually we were going to have a war with Iran.
Power, money and oil would eventually demand that one side or the other kicked it off. Trump promised he wouldn’t but pretty sure he knew all along. He was going to.
Israel is getting a lot of blame here and I’m not certain they’re completely at fault. I’m also not certain they want to level the place. They certainly don’t want the people in charge currently to stay in charge.
I think it’s important to note that Israel is taking some pretty heavy blows themselves that are not being reported fully in the media. Make no mistake. It’s a war zone in Israel right now as well.
Living in America, it’s easy to insulated from the realities of bombs dropping on you every night. We just get to watch it every night while we eat our TV dinners in front of the news. It’s not super real to us yet.

Again, I think it’s the illogical to pretend Israel ordered this war and that we’re not full participants of our own. Certainly Israel has influence here. I do not believe we had to be talked into prosecuting this war.
I would like to see the Iranian Kurds come out on top.
Aren't enough of them and the Persian majority probably wouldn't want them trying to control things or carve out their own country or territory.
