I've got very little solid knowledge on this specific topic, so I'll have to be more of a listener than a talker on it. But it seems like past efforts to do it were maybe based more on theory than on right in front of one's eyes evidence until this war started. That's when it became clear that we're not actually effective guarantors of security in the Middle East. And when Iran actually started tolling the Strait of Hormuz only in crypto, Chinese Yuan etc.
