Same at you. I get to go furniture shopping with the wife again today. We bought a new sofa, recliner, and bed 23 days ago. Two weeks ago they delivered everything except the bed frame. This is my bedroom for the last two weeks. Assholes have cancelled delivery three times, screw them. They can come get this.

I hate that when you go to a furniture store its just a showroom and the furniture has to be delivered from another warehouse. Usually only a day or two. Three weeks is ridiculous. Slow boat from China?
My dad had a furniture/appliance store, so I grew up with the business. When he had a customer buy something, they would just load it up in the truck and follow them home, no extra delivery charge. There is a gigantic markup on furniture. Living in the Atlanta area, there are warehouses for all these furniture chains. I didn't mind waiting a week, I had to get rid of the old furniture anyway and I can understand getting on the trucking company's delivery schedule. We cleaned out everything and were ready for a new bed that first delivery date they promised. Three cancelled deliveries now, screw them. Direct from the manufacturer will still take another week and we will loose the bundled savings price we have now. I despise furniture shopping, my dad used to just give us stuff or fix our GE appliances.
And as soon as they hit 30 or 35 they swell up like a pumpkin

Here the furniture business is dominated by one company. Most of the other companies buy from them and resell at an added markup. The warehouse is nearby and you can pick up the furniture yourself but still have to wait until the next day.

My wife has been going totally nuts over this. We had a queen size Casper that I moved to our guest room, so we have been sleeping on the very same bed. I decided to get a top of the line Nectar king size bed with adjustable base, $3200. Nectar had a big sale and the base has been backordered, nobody has them in stock. We were offered another base, I should have just took that. They already knocked a couple hundred off price, but three weeks is ridiculous.
I bought a Nectar king size 2 years ago, I like it.
Current situation. I figured the beach would be packed today since it’s Labor Day weekend. It was even easy to find a parking space!
