Tough Guy?

Its almost the same maybe a .01 difference.

Of you leave that money in the brokerage you dont have a minimum amount.

Vanguard has come a long way. Much easier for the small investors to get in. You can even biy a fractional shave of an ETF.

Back in the day you need at least 3k to biy a mutual fund.

Now you can biy a fractional share if you wish. The market has went up so much that one share of the VOO is over $700

Im very happy with my Vanguard account.

I can biut whatever I want with noo sales charges.

I diversified my S&P a little bit with 2 other ETFs

Investors RSP an equal weight fund. Every stock is only .20 of the S&P

But its a little more expensive. .20 instead of .03

I also have some some in DSPY. it isn't an equal weight but its a little less concentrated than the VOO

Its expense ratio is .18.

Still in the market but not all of eggs in one basket.

I have money in Vanguard investments but through a different brokerage. I just opened a Vanguard account last week to store my ready cash in but haven't done anything with it yet. I had to wait several days for the account to be officially activated. When I looked it just said the cash was in the brokerage account but didn't mention the sweep fund.

The money market pays a little bit more bit had a 3k minimum.

I used the cash plus accounts to replace some of the savings accounts I had at the bank..

One bank was paying me ,10% and the other was paying me .20%

Fuck that.

I get nirs interest in one month than I would get in a year and a half

Its definitely not going to make me rich bit ill.take every penny I can.

Especially right now.

And my fixed annuities are getting a giod rate and im letting them juice up a bit.

Everyone else can laugh at me

I have been moving some of my money away from growth funds to equity and dividend funds. All of the funds I mentioned are doing very well except for VWALX which I just got last year. It is tax exempt but only returning about 1%. I will probably move that money into the tax managed fund (VTCLX) that is doing a lot better.

I just checked with Vanguard and the money I put in to open my account just changed from just showing in the brokerage account into the sweep. It didn't show that as recently as this morning. They do have a 7 day hold on the deposits.

It was confusing me at first about what exactly was going on there.

Does leaving a job mean that one's employer is no longer responsible for its past aggrievements?

Yes how has the union helped you in any problems since you retired? They didn't do shit for me three month's after I retired and had a problem.
