Yep, did mine last week looks almost exactly the same. Hardest part was getting it off.

@gumby would've got you off.

Not your best work my friend.

No one asked you, Mr. Mom

Go check your 401k statement

Why do people always hit my car? I’ve had people run into the back of me three times while stopped at a light. Two other times they hit me either in or at an intersection. If someone ran into the back of you and there is no visible damage, would you still get it checked out to make sure there are no issues IN the bumper or just forget about it?

Always call PD and get a report.

Depends. If someone gave me a lovetap in my 97 Ford I would let it ride. If someone gave me a lovetap in my 22 Ford I would be taking down their contact info. There is an additive in the paint on the bumper cover that allows the paint to flex with the bumper without cracking. You have the plastic bumper cover, the actual impact bar that is bolted to the ends of the frame rails, and between the two is an energy absorber which is normally a strip of Styrofoam. If you got hit hard enough to damage the impact bar you would know it. It is possible that you are hit hard enough to damage the energy absorber without any visible damage to the bumper cover. If the energy absorber is damaged and you are rear-ended again more of the energy will be transferred to the frame rails meaning you are more likely to have frame damage next time.

Also possible if you are driving a SUV and other driver is in a sedan they cook the brakes right before they hit you and pitch the nose of their car down and hit the floorpan of your trunk without hitting the bumper.

For the next week

Another successful home repair. Watched a YouTube video, paid $25.99(half what Home Depot wanted), and replaced a Moen single handle shower valve in about 30 minutes. Screw calling a plumber.

He was driving a newer Mustang and I drive a 2023 Nissan Rogue. I got all his information. Florida is a no fault state though. That means we each have to take care of our own damages despite whose fault it is.
