I’ve had other buddies who have owned Fords that had great luck. One of them still has a range from the mid to late 1990s that’s still rolling.

The only way we found out about the problem was the mechanic told us about the recall. Ford was telling the dealers so if anyone else knew about it they could have had the bolts replaced but Ford was trying to save money hoping nobody would find out. I think there was a later class action suit but by then a lot of the cars were off the road.
