Thanks man. It wasn't that terrible, by the time we realized what was happening and got to the ER we were almost out of the window for anaphylaxis anyways. Quickest ER visit ever. In and out in 30 mins including registration. Honestly best way it could have happened - at home with both of us there and close to the hospital. At daycare or while the grandparents were watching her or something would've been bad. Now we know.
Mom was eating peanut butter while breastfeeding and she broke out in hives all over her body. She got a peanut ige test and yeah she's pretty severely allergic to peanuts. Hopefully not to the point where touch or airborne particles set her off because that would be pretty scary. Not sure how you determine that, I'll have to ask the allergist when we see them.
That’s scary. I’ve read 20% grow out of it, there’s also a new product called palforzia that supposedly can help lower reactions I know, basically just tiny amounts of peanuts to help train the immune system
Never heard of such a thing growing up. Of course, if we had it back then, we would have chased them with peanut butter sandwiches. 🥪
I remember one time I was smokin a bowl with some of my roommates and one of the guys said he was super allergic to peanuts and I needed to brush my teeth before smoking with him because I ate a peanut granola bar thing earlier, the guy was kind of a drama queen so I was just like yea sure whatever and didn’t do it and kept smoking
looking back that was extremely selfish and ignorant of me but luckily I was right and he was totally fine
