For a new HW heater?
I guess 23 years was a good run.
That was about how long my old one lasted. When I put in the new one I also added screw fittings to make it easier to replace the next time. The old one was soldered in.

We had one installed a couple years ago that replaced one that was about that old. The technician rep replacing the old ones said he doubt the new one will last that long. They just don’t make them that way anymore. About 15 years is all you can expect. SMH
We have a freezer from Montgomery Wards that has a date of 1982 on it still runs great.

How much did they charge for installation? When I got mine that would have cost me more than the heater so of course I did it myself.
And yeah, new ones probably only last 10-15 years. If that.

Hope it explodes before you replace ! Have a great day !
Buncha broke ass Dey-gos. Tankless is the only way to fly.
I looked into that but decided the extra wiring and cost wasn't worth it.

I don’t remember the total breakdown, but the whole thing was less than $1000.

That is about what it would have cost me. To have $400 heater installed.
