@brownblob we have someone fired cause the company says they didn't grieve a working termination in a timely manner. Past practice here is that you file following the meeting where they tell you they are sending the letter. The company waited a business week after the meeting to send the letter (this is timely). The grievance was turned in outside the 10 day window from the date of the meeting but inside the 10 day window from the postmark on the letter. Some on the union side say because of past practice the grievance is untimely, some on the union side say the letter is the discipline and that's when the clock starts so member should've stayed on the job til his meeting. Thoughts?
