You can replace it yourself. Its a little bit tricky. Advance auto replaces them at ni extra charge. Best $10 top i ever spent.

My manual shows you how to do it (it is a common coin watch battery) but does recommend you have the dealer do it of course

I think u can start it if the battery is dead or it becomes disassociated, by holding the faub up to the push to start button.
