The reasonable expectation of privacy is for us the citizens not the government. They are using and storing this data, creating crimes for people that they have to prove they’re innocent of the exact opposite of innocent until proven guilty. People forget the constitution was written to protect us from the government not the other way around.
I can take pictures of people’s license plate all day long, but I can’t do anything with that data. That’s the reasonable part.
If those people ask you not to, or tell you not to. Then you can't.
Currently, they’re getting away with this by pretending they’re a separate company, even though the only people that can access that data is local state federal governments. As well as getting sweetheart deals to put these cameras up everywhere.
The cost of the camera are not a sweet deal. I think I heard they cost 10000 each.
