I think most all of us have been involved with someone who has an addiction problem that is destroying their life, or causing them to make poor choices.
It’s very difficult to understand.
It’s an extreme case, but imagine seeing someone totally addicted to meth and thinking….”boy I would like to be like that person!”
The addict never thinks it’s going to be them, and when it does become them, they have a multitude of excuses to explain it away.
For sure, it's hard to permanent separate from.
As you said, we all know those who walk away and live clean and we know those who never can.
