No. Shit was super annoying though. Some people had been sober for 35+ years and still attending every meeting. I was thinking why the fuck are you even here? Some people make being sober their whole identity. Remembering all the 12 steps and remembering the whole "big book" fuck that.. Just stop drinking and keep it pushing.

Just stop drinking works for some people. For others, they are aware that they are always one bad choice away from sliding back. They called themselves “recovering” alcoholic forever.

Some people can just decide they don't want to drink any more and that's it. Many others need the support of others to keep from backsliding. Nothing wrong with doing it either way.
And yeah, some people are just 1 drink away from relapsing.
