I have absolutely no empathy for these car dealers. I enjoy playing games with them as much as they want to play games.
Every time I’ve bought a new vehicle (including my Union cars).... I would find what I want and go to that dealer. Locally.
If they are open till 8:00pm, I would go in at 7:00pm and start the process. Keep them there for an extra hour and then walk.
Do that 2 or 3 times to “soften” them up and they get tired of seeing you. Play the game and wear them down.
I understand they are trying to make a living. But, so are lawyers....
They want 3% fee for using your charge card.
It’s been a few years but some won’t charge for it.
My experience only 5,000, many years ago had one that would put 10k on it. Just don’t let them get that 3% somewhere else.
Then Ill transfer it to the brokerage...

Most of my work is on a node stack.
Used to be able to run similar ish stuff on a Raspberry Pi with 512 mb of ram.
Running it on a spare laptop with 8 GB of memory now, and it spends half the time locked up.

Go shopping at the end of the month, they want to move a certain number of cars by then. Offer about $500 over what the dealer paid for the car. Dealers make most of their profit off of service, financing, used cars, and the “float” from manufacturers. I used to buy my wife a new car every four or five years when the kids were young, I don’t think new cars are worth the price now. I can afford a new car, but they just aren’t worth it. Half the list price on a new car is the cost of materials and labor, according to my brother that works at the Corvette plant. The last two I bought for myself had less than 30k miles on them, let somebody else take that big hit on depreciation.
This guy regularly gets 10% off MSRP with no add-ons. His videos are amazing and hilarious. These dealers are nothing but scum. Every single one of them. If I was in the market for a new car, I would have no problem paying him $1000 to save me $4000 to $10,000 and not to deal with these jackasses. His videos are actually great education if you’re buying a car, even if you don’t use him, he tells you you can do it yourself.

What dealer supposedly paid is not accurate. The dealer gets hidden rebates and discounts that won't show up on the fact sheet. I could afford an expensive shiny new car too but I don't drive enough to be worth it. I bought a 2025 with 16k miles.
The thing to do is be able to walk away, just say no, they’ll call you in a couple days and if not then fuck em and go somewhere else.
