Well.

From 1984 to now, the median household income went up 33%.

From 1984 to now, the median household sale price went up 400%.

I'm just saying.

Factor in construction sf jumping considerbly. Homes are bigger now, way bigger with a lot more stuff inside that add to cost, extra this, extra that, it all adds up.

My first home was a 3br with one bathroom, eat in kitchen, built in 1950. The biggest br was 12x12.

Land use governmental rules add cost too. It's not profitable to build smaller homes.

It's worth what anyone is willing to pay for it. I paid $85,000 for my house brand new in 1993...could sell this shithole for $650,000 tomorrow. Not my fault.

The downside to this is where to live next.

And that's why Millennials and gen Z ar3 living with their parents into their 30's.

That plus the narrative of going to college is a smart life decision for most people.

I thought it was funny as hell when @badideaguy proclaimed himself as the tech genius and @unionstrong said "yeah you can really tell by this third world site"

That shit had me on the floor 🤣

You should make your own site

Lumber costs are crazy now too

Inserting videos is easy. I don't know what was so hard to figure out.

My town had some former government land to sell.

They contracted builders who all refused the project, no profit could be made.

So they ended up selling as single lots by bid.

11 lots sold, but it took multiple attempts for some.

Now mega mansions are being built, which pisses off some of the locals.

Which my reply is that they should have bought the lots themselves.

Same retards that buy a $60,000 vehicle.

Which I see quite a lot of around here. I'm doing well above average and this is certainly NOT an affluent area so I was always puzzled how everyone seems to be doing so much better off than me. Then I realized everyone's swimming in debt with thousand dollar payments at 84 months.

You asked what was different.

I told you.

Boomers gonna boom.

Boomers gonna boom.

I hate talking to boomers about life decisions. They think they got it all figured out.

Try living in the Washington DC Suburbs and and working at the UPS building and tell me how that goes today.

All my kids and their spouses were on their own, married in their 20's, all homeowners.

Mom and Dad did pay for college though.

How old are they now?

W
I think if you added up call outs of @burrheadd , @scratch , and myself over our careers, it wouldn't add up to over 50!

How many kids do you have and how old are they and what are their careers and where do they live?

I'm not saying it's impossible but people like me that live outside of the big cities like DC, NY, Philly, LA etc... Shit is hard.
