The company was about to play games with seniority by skipping over whole buildings in the same localand not following seniority appropriately. He felt they had no liability they would not have pulled these. They are only being asked to negotiate appropriately. Union is not against the buyout per se as long as they’re done contractually.

Somebody in UPS legal and labor departments has told the company to hold up on these because they realize there’s liability in the way these are being implemented. They would’ve never pulled them for nowif if that were not the case.
