And I can’t keep up with the people who are saying either the union wanted a cut, or now it’s only 7500 jobs. I thought they wanted to get rid of 30,000. lol.
Now that these are legitimately, going to go by seniority. These were people that were likely going to be retiring before the next contract. So these people would’ve been replaced by lower seniority people.
The company gets a win. Junior employees at a lower rate of pay for the next four years.
The union gets a win by forcing the company to negotiate something they contractually are obligated to.
And The highest seniority people get a win by receiving a nice paycheck on the way out the door.
