There was a lot of discussion when the Central States pension received a bump up last contract. At the time the Central States was
the lowest paying pension in the country. There are people on this site like @wally and @542thrunthru that were (and are) very vocal about it.
Local 639.... has the highest paid pension in the country. It was almost double Central States before the bump. It’s paid higher than the
West Coast famous Peer 80. You got seven years in and are still young at 36. Just stay in shape and don’t kill yourself with booze.
23 more years is easy at that age.... then you could be on easy street for life. Food for thought my friend.
Yep. I have 6 vested credits and my benefit is 1900. I can 30 and out at age 55 without any penalty and my benefit will be nearly $10,000!!!
Its like going to the movies....no outside snacks on planes.
