Especially since they announced they won't be raising them.
They will make up for it with massive layoffs and building closures.
Closing small older buildings has been their plan for over a decade.
Massive layoffs? Where? We’ve been over and over this.. layoffs do happen but the word “layoff” at ups does not mean what it means in most companies.
This was just as much the reason for the buyout as anything. The company knows the layoff language makes layoffs at UPS nor Have as great impact. Even if a guy doesn’t work a full 8 hours the company still has to pay their health and welfare weekly.
