Glad I bought my new computer when I did. I was being proactive about tariffs but I wouldn't have anticipated AI gobbling up parts and driving prices up even more.
UPS feeder driver wrongfully detained and arrested over AI cameras. This is what all the RAM is getting eaten up for. Maybe the people who couldn't give up wearing masks everywhere had a point. I'd be sure to sue the AI company, the casino, the police department, and the officer personally into the dirt. He and his family would be eating ramen out of dumpsters for life by the time I was done.
It's worth noting that I have no inherent problem with AI; it's a tool like any other. It's its current implementation and use I take issue with. And I know I've always talked up the idea of banging robots but Trump is really gobbling that AI knob like it's his last meal.

I don’t think we’ve ever talked about it but on the opposite end of the mask controversy did you know some states make it illegal to wear masks in public? It’s shit like that pisses me off how little the public pushes back on their rights
obviously not talking about medical masks, they have some laws saying you can if it’s for medical reasons, but just more government over reach

speaking of @badideaguy i was gonna ask your opinion on this, do you think AI could be used as a good educational tool? In the sense of it being used like a textbook where it has the information in it but can be used more as a one on one tutor to help better explain certain aspects to each person in their own way with their personal questions? Considering class sizes keep growing and teachers are so overworked as it is

As a tool for teaching, I think it could be fantastic.
All AI is is basically advanced pattern recognition and prediction using a black box. Which means that any issues a student is having could (theoretically) be analyzed to determine the common denominators and address the root problems with understanding the task.
I do NOT think it can be used in place of teachers, as the pattern recognition and prediction would result in generic "slop" students, just like it creates slop products today.
I'm sure that the trillion dollar oligarchs who are busy committing financial fraud and laundering money through paper investments into each other will get right on that, and use their power for good by investing in the future of humanity.

That cop told that feeder driver “this is the world we live in.” He is a complete moron. We do not live in that world. We have a constitution. You’re not guilty and have to prove your innocence.. that feeder driver had every bit of identifying identification necessary for that cop to let him go. instead, the cop kept talking about their fancy AI system that did all the work for him and how he was just a dumb cop which is exactly true.I hope that Teamsters brother Sues the hell out of that police department
