Pension

Many options when putting in for the pension.
I think I made one mistake. I chose the "Pop-up plan", which basically pops your pension up to the full single payee amount if your spouse dies before you.
In the meantime, this reduces your monthly payment by $70.
Now I'm thinking this is a dumb idea. There is NO WAY she is gonna die before me. In fact, she'll probably outlive us all.
So I think I'll call and see if I can change that. Think I'd rather just keep that $70/month.

Ideas, comments, suggestions?

Mine I did spousal benefits so she relieves 75% of my pension if I die first, if she dies first it reverts back to me getting my full amount.

How much are they charging for the survivorship?

I took 100% which was quite expensive but if unfortunately if she pass away before me I will get tge full single life annuity payment.

Hope she dont kill you !

Hope she dont kill you !

She should worry about me killing her. That way I get my full pension.

I took the full amount. She better hope that I live longer! The conventual idea is to take the full amount and buy a term life insurance policy. I was looking into doing that before I had that blood clot on top of my lungs that almost killed me three years ago. Insurance rates went up so astronomical it's just not worth it. So I'm still watching and growing my investments since then.
I got her 50% if I die, so she bettah keep me alive!!

We decided to take it all for me. She has always made enough money to support herself if I kicked the bucket. Her next husband is going to be a rich man----------I hope he buys some nice motorcycles with my money.

Not likely.

How much less a month do you get by picking that option?

I gave her Dave in my will!

Fixed!

Does she lose survivor pension if she remarries?

How much less a month do you get by picking that option?

For me, that would have reduced my pension $1580 every month!
