The UPS Teamsters Strike Fund
UPS strike in 2028?
My guess is currently around 60 to 65% chance…… a lot can change between now and then, but the only change I see currently is getting more heated.
There is a strike fund for all Teamster members, it’s a great asset to the members, both for peace of mind and to dissuade companies from not negotiating.
In 1997 the Teamsters barely had two nickels to rub together. There was still a great deal of unity and teamster members accomplished a great deal of the issues they were concerned with.
This is shaping up to be one of the most consequential contracts in history. Hopefully the current membership is ready to take their place in labor history if necessary.

How long can the Teamsters hold out with the current strike fund before they run out? I’m sure dues will come out of strike fund checks too.

Considering in 97 we did it with nothing. I think a couple months is well within reason and if the company wants to go that long, there may not be a company left. That’s up to them.

Either won't last more than three weeks tops. Who wins by the end of three weeks is yet to be determined. Will enough cross or will the Union run out of money?

They make 50 bucks an hour now, have control over overtime like never before --(8 hour requests-9 1/2 hour lists). probably the best benefit package in the industry------------I don't understand this strike talk. Don't get mw wrong--I haven't gone to the dark side. It just seems like the slaves have it much easier than we did back in the dark ages.

From the outside, looking in it would seem that we have those things, but we absolutely do not. Hours are completely out of control. I only worked four days this week and worked 52 hours. They don’t care about paying 9.5.. seems like a good thing until you realize people are losing their minds, losing their health and losing their families due to extreme excessive hours. This is only because the company refuses to hire. Couple that with the fact the company is now ignoring the contract agreements and the level of a harassment has gotten pretty extreme and you have a work group that is exhausted frustrated and ready fight this company.

It's going to be really hard to make ot 30+ years here.
We have a driver who took the buyout and is leaving next week. They've been writing him up for the pettiest shit for the past couple months. And he doesn't call in, isn't on 9.5, isn't a whiner. Nobody has any idea why. They're just being dicks.
