Buyout

Me and @gumby will take the offer this time

And me

I'm going to have to take the buyout because Sean O'Brien stole my increased pension contributions!

C

Big savings if they offer buyout to over 35 yr pt

Pters are going to work until their 90 waiting for a buyout that isn't coming.

Show me the money!

Our most senior driver was "retiring". Company bought him breakfast, ORS went out with him for a farewell tour, he puts in his 7 weeks of Vacay.
He calls Stew yesterday tells him he read about buyout and is coming back after his vacation.
Lol

I like hearing stuff like this!! Hopefully he was the most over allowed and the center team was hoping he be gone.

He needs FMLA too

A bunch of old ass 22.3s are melting down over not being offered a buyout.

I’ve had many of them, ask me almost every day since the first buyout if I thought we were having one, and if they would be included. I continually told them don’t count on them being included. They still don’t believe me.

along with getting rid of as many top scale, older drivers possible they want to get rid of every driver they can’t move back-and-forth to Tuesday through Saturday schedule or even Sundays if it eventually happens. They want the flexibility to do whatever they want with drivers. Everyone hired after August 2019 as a flex driver that can be moved as if the company wishes with the proper notice.

Sadly the tues thru sat has to be done if not more. Our non union competitors are even doing Sunday. I herd to many upset the union let this happen.

Have to keep up with the other carriers, realistically Feeders works 24 seven already.

In my center we have a handful of drivers that would have retired right before or after peak if there hadn’t been rumors of another buyout. I imagine that is the case in many buildings. The company could’ve gotten rid of a lot of these guys without buyouts if they had simply played their cards right and not mention buyouts at all.

Some of ours couldn’t retire earlier because they had taken so many days off. Then realized they weren’t gonna get full vacation payouts. Or full mention credit so they had to stick around longer. 🤣👎

I left during the talk of buyouts Turned out mechanics were not included anyway but it did not affect my decision. Only regret I didn’t go earlier is how I feel now. Thanks to many on browncafe they help me make the change and not one was wrong. I just live on less and my freedom to be with family and looking out the window at the cold and snow is such a relief to be home. I honestly don’t think I could go back.

Too many people end up staying much longer than they needed to. Chasing an extra $100 per month. Or waiting to see what the next contract offers. I’ve never met anyone that regretted retiring. But I’ve met plenty that regretted not retiring sooner. I totally get why people stick around until they’re illegible to use the retiree insurance though. Whoever has a spouse that has good employer providing insurance is sittin pretty.

Teamsters just made a post whining about a new buyout coming this week.

If they did nothing you'd be here next week crying "where is the union?" instead.
