Buyout

“Guys that work at the local union hall, you aren’t not seeing your kids,” he said. “You still get to go home at a decent time. I don’t have that luxury. I have to stay out there until my route’s done.”

Wrong bucko. I was asked over a decade ago if I wanted to work at the union hall I explicitly said no because I understood the time requirements and the travel would be hard on my family.

Not to mention you make less money

Your insurance is worse

Your pension gets all screwed up

They can’t find people who want to do the jobs at the Halls all across the country because of these things.

Especially the UPS employees who haven’t made the shade

Must be different here I know of at least 4 guys from my building that went to work at our local. Two were feeder drivers. All 4 were shop stewards.

It’s difficult to find feeder drivers who want to come to the Union hall those guys make $150-$180,000 a year if they want to.

You’re not making that at the union hall.

Yeah I missed that. I did notice he was claiming he was working 10-12 hour days but UPS said drivers only average 9. Who do you believe?

He also said the work life balance had gotten worse in the last year. Where’s he been for the last 10 years?

He sounds like a whiny ass…. lol only 19 years. I don’t feel sorry for him.

Nobody and I mean, nobody knew if they got the buyout or not before it was officially announced to everyone.

Anyone telling you that simply doesn’t understand what the website was saying.
