Violence in Iran is increasing. The IRGC has had to send troops and even foreign soldiers to several cities. A few police chiefs have been shot and killed. People are starting to fight.

I'll be impressed when either commercial ships no longer require costly US Navy escorts to ensure a tolerable level of safety or gas prices come down meaningfully. Our hope is probably that Iran will give up soon and US Navy escorts won't have to be a long-term thing.

The Iranian economy continues to deteriorate to almost critical levels. Despite cheerleading by some, and even my own doubt, Trump might come up with a W on this. Even if it’s not exactly how he planned it.
Also listening to the complaints of people, pretending the economy is failing and falling apart here in America doesn’t match what’s going on, people are spending money like crazy. There’s no slowdown, even though there’s lots of complaints.

"It's looked bad for Republicans all year, but this week felt different — like the political environment was disintegrating in real time, one ominous data point after another.
Most worrisome for the GOP, there's virtually no chance the war ends, inflation cools, interest rates fall, consumer confidence rises, and economic optimism surges before the Nov. 3 election.
