Well the original offer for the second buyout the fine print said you had to be an active employee to be considered you couldn't be on leave or disability or FMLA yadayada. Then there's a secret negotiation between the international and the company where they come to an agreement nobody has ever seen and all of a sudden BAs are getting bought out. Its not hard to imagine some corrupt agreement that did nothing for the membership such as 'we will let you buy people out so long as you include officers of the union in your pool of candidates'.
I don't think it's like that but you know people talk shit and it's hard to say anything. The BAs that took the buyout here did get $150k from the company for basically nothing. They were never going to return from leave no matter what happened. Is there any economic benefit to clearing those guys off the books? Why would the company give away $150k for free?
It would just be better if they didn't take it cause then the members wouldn't be asking these kind of questions.

It's sort of like donating money to DRIVE, they give money to politicians you vote against. I had to go down to my Local to get out of DRIVE, the receptionist called me a greedy UPS driver when I quit giving money to them.

Most of the stuff in the store is just for display and they have to have the item sent over from a warehouse.
