I think one of their "efficiency" experts decided a belt was more efficient than a boxline. It must be cheaper to pay drivers to sort and load than a part timer.
I only saw belts instead of boxlines in smaller buildings.

We have a huge hub with three centers. We used to have box lines. They expanded our building in 2020 and got rid of all the Box signs went to straight belts.

How many centers doesn't mean as much as it used to with them combining centers to eliminate management jobs. Center size went up from 30-35 drivers to more like 60. I mostly worked in a older building that only had 2 boxlines but I did work in a much larger building for a while that had 6.
They are “supposed” to schedule those tests.... as not to interfere with your normal work hours.
If not.... they should be adjusting your dispatch.

I always loved it when I had to go in early for something and when they saw I had an earlier ETA than a lot of other drivers they would forget I started early and give me extra work. When I pointed that out to them they just said as long as you don't work over 12.
