The cool thing with COD's now is if they call the 800 number they can pay it on the phone with a debit card and it instantly comes out of your board as owing fees. Problem is explaining that to them because almost everyone that gets a COD doesn't speak good English.

Weird thing is not all of them come out of your board because they try to give us a sheet to put a code in so we can leave the package. Nobody even knows how to do it. lol.

FYI, my wife sent a 2 day Air letter to California at a UPS store yesterday.
Almost $70 πŸ˜‚ highway robbery!!!πŸ˜‚

Gotta pay for that buyout somehow

Yep, I still get COD from time to time but nowhere near what I used to get. Most companies got smart and began using their own credit cards to avoid the COD fee, which has become quite expensive from what I’ve heard

My first bid route averaged almost 20 a day. Think 38 was the most I ever had. Almost $25,000 was the most cash I collected.

What pick ups? There were no ups stores or amazon returns back then. Internet hadn't really taken off at that point so I can't imagine Target or whatever else had 300 pieces a day going out like they do now. You guys had Mickey Mouse pick ups.

My first "bid" route (I had 5 years in 1993) had 75 delivery stops(350+ pkgs delivered)0 Resi stops all industrial,P700 + TP60 and 75 pickups 1000 pieces picked up. I had to go back to the building grab an empty P800 fill it bring it back and head back with the 700. 9am-7pm everyday.

I worked at a ups store for almost 10 years before I started this job. It depends on the weight and dimensions. Those letter envelopes normally are like $30-$35 for next day air. But if it's a package... Yeah you're going to be paying a grip for over night.

A lot of people don't realize how good our ground service is. Like I'm in Northern Virgina. I could ground a package to Philly, NC, and anywhere else in my state and not even have to pay overnight and it'll still be there next day.

New york to DC is 2 days with ground. Dc to Chicago is 2 days with ground.

Picked up almost $5k every day. Had a few companies that had no credit.

You SOB! 🀬

My center in the late 80s probably had 5-8 that would fill a P-1000 depending on the time of year in a 50-60 route center.

We had a few pickups that shipped so much it took 2 or 3 package cars to make the pickup. They really should have been on TDP/CPU (I don't remember which term was being used then) but the center didn't want to lose the pickup pieces.

I believe I remember a NDA fixed rate of $12.50. No matter the distance.

Whoever uses my regular truck on Saturdays keeps doing the thing where he uses a DR bag and ties it to the dr bag handle and uses it as a trashcan. Full of trash and piss bottles every time I get it back. I really want to find out who it is and confront him. That shit is not cool. Throw away your fukkin trash you slob.

Report them to the shop steward and the cm. Totally unacceptable, not to mention a health hazard.

Personally, I would find out who exactly had that truck, bring the bottles in the office with his name on them.

Think that was for the dropboxes. If a driver picked it up.... you got β€œzonal” pricing.
