Union still saying they are illegitimate letters

I say the same thing every time my local "suggests" that I vote for their democratic candidate.

Definitely agree with you on that. Seems more like a uniparty now though

They also said they would stop the subcontracting of our work

That 30 percent could be about $1500 a month. Payback over bonus in 6-7 years. No ss taxes on pension. Tax free in some states.

I guess it could cause your social security to be taxed.

I would think not many retiring near social security yet.

Near retiring, the $150 k number is a no brainer.

Final decision day is here. Anyone changing their mind?
Are you in or out?

Well, it’s not negotiated so I suppose they could give you whatever they want. You can go get a lawyer if they screw you, but kind of defeats the purpose.

Apparently, there were former Teamsters who took the last buyout who were calling the international asking if they could file a grievance because their buyout was so much less lol!

You would think anyone who had interest in the buyout would have crunched the numbers months ago when buyout information started leaking out? It should be a no- brainer either way.

I say, "you would think" but we all know guys that reach retirement age and have done absolutely zero in terms of planning. Suddenly, their overwhelmed. Had years, did nothing.

Very true. It always shocks me how little people know about their retirement.

That number had better be a firm offer, on paper. Not flexible.

There’s a bunch of small print. Not to mention if you happen to get fired for any reason between the time you’re approved. And the time you’re separated from the company you will get nothing.

I’m sure the company is totally trustworthy It wouldn’t fire you for some silly reason……😉

I do believe one would have a really good case if they tries to pay you less than the amount on the paperwork.
