Just curious, but by any chance those "Gypsie's" union? Maybe not Teamsters, but there are other Unions in Massachusetts correct? My Dad worked for Local 4 Int. Union of Operating Engineers.
Absolutely not. These are "ICs", Independent Contractors.

I'll tell you what else pisses me off. There are sub contractors (Gypsies) pulling loads out every night and it's not even Peak. Stealing our work, and this is no problem with the union.BUT... the company actually wants to give us a little extra money, and this IS a problem.I get it, the union didnt get a cut. But isnt the two scenarios above a little ass backward?
What have you done about the gypsies?
What have you done about the gypsies?
Slashed their air lines, spread nails under their tires, pulled the fifth wheel release before they drive away.
Basic stuff.
What have you done about the gypsies?
What can you do? Apparently the union knows it's happening.
Is this any different than the part timers getting a bonus for showing up every day during Peak?I don't recall the union grieving that..

Exactly!

In my area, those PTer's are seasonal and not seniority employees.

So, when this happens and you grieve it, the Union refuses to process it?
That would piss me off too, but is hardly justification for every other local to roll "ovah" for blatant violations of multiple articles in this scenario.
BTW, the Union's cut is the same no matter what, 2.5X your hourly rate for every month you work.
I will ask you the same question I ask everyone, if this is on the up and up, why does the Company refuse to bargain over it?
No pro-buyout advocate has been able to give me a reasonable answer to that question.
@badideaguy cares.
Anyway, there were allegations concerning generation grouping. We are trying to get confirmation.
35 years FT and can't afford to retire without a buyout?
Everyone's pension plan is different
Not every plan got the special buyout this contract like the Central did
With a $1000 a month bump if you retired during this contract

If I stay to when I plan to, I get $10/mth more, than I would have on previous contract. That's not a windfall.

Perhaps
What about the extra 1k?

Accrual method is how mine would be calculated, because it would be more.
