Buyout

They might call me blob jr.

Woo!

W

Is that what the agreement said or did you just make that up?

Or did they agree to allow the company to use the seniority list the same as they always do?

This is something that has never transpired before? New territory.

I see this as a giant nationwide center merge, one seniority list for the whole country in terms of the seniority list and who get one of the 7500 slots. It really is the fairest way to decide.

Wasn't the whole buyout based on each centers needs as far as the company was concerned? So if they were short feeders in one building but fat RPCD in the same building RCPD got it?

It was until the union negotiated that 7500 number.

Pretty crapola deal if it doesn't go by seniority.

So you don’t know? You just made all that up. And you’re telling us what YOU think is fair?

I might be mistaken, but I don’t think you ever negotiated a contract nor are you the president of the international brotherhood of Teamsters . Sorry

As I’ve pointed out before, nothing is perfect, but if you had been in charge, you would’ve allowed the company to do what they want for many years and we would’ve all been in the poor house, including you.

We should all be thankful that you didn’t have any control of any negotiations.

Seething with anger over your pension and not staying long enough to apply for the buyout is really unbecoming of you.

You did retire you should be enjoying it retirement that Teamsters negotiated for you because I do not been a team. You were probably be working for FedEx with no retirement.or maybe the groundskeeper at a golf course.

Is the Central allowing any of their members to participate in the buyout?

How many was the company going to give before? Do you know the answer to that?

You think it's fair for @gumby not to get the buyout even though he has more seniority, company time? I don't.

Is the Central allowing any of their members to participate in the buyout?

Yep, after it was negotiated, they sure did. The whole country was included again.

The company came to the union. Remember after the union said they were doing it illegally which they were.

If they weren’t doing it illegally, the company could’ve just continued going….

Thats the way life works sometimes.

Now I don't have to resign.

I can retire on my own terms.

Don't know...don't care

I’m disappointed for my brother as I would be for anybody that didn’t get it that wanted it. Decisions were made.

Perhaps

I'm hearing about Union workers (BAs and such) who keep their seniority with UPS, but work for the union, getting the buyout! Can't work for UPS anymore, but they get the $150,000 AND keep their job with the union. This when real drivers in their local did not get the buyout.
Is that dirty or what?

We had a BA take the buyout in my local. Though the BA is retiring and no longer going to work for the local.

This from TDU, so I cannot vouch for accuracy.

What seniority order they following? Seems like some higher seniority are being passed over.

The same seniority order followed in every building.

Did you have to pick your vacations with feeder drivers? Or vice versa?

I disagree with that. Only company union seniority should be used. Anyway, that's the fairest way to do it imo.

Another way would be to divide the 7500 slots by membership in each local adjusted by membership numbers per local.

So we don’t have classification seniority?

Last time I checked, we do, I can’t go to Feeders whenever I want nor can they come to package whenever they want.

We have FT, and PT seniority.

My bad, just found out 2 feeder drivers got the buyout, many more wanted it. There has been a grievance filed, for all the feeder drivers, who had more seniority than the PC drivers.

"After months of urging UPS to honor its Teamsters contract and return to the bargaining table over unilateral driver buyouts, UPS on Sunday agreed to terms on a new settlement with the Teamsters National Negotiating Committee — capping severance offers while rewarding and protecting the seniority of Teamsters drivers."

Teamster management seems to believe seniority was followed. Who y'all grieving, UPS or the Teamsters?
