We have a lot of people leaving on this Friday also and I heard a rumor that once they're gone the company plans on denying any and all personal holiday requests 🤣 wow , great plan, excellent foresight

We had a Center Manager tell someone the other day that he can’t file a grievance until he talks to him. I mean, if he’ll believe that they can tell you anything.

I mean there isn't really anything you can do to make them approve the day in the moment, the grievance process takes time. Sure you get time and a half all day if it was denied unjustly but that doesn't really help you make it to your doctors appointment or whatever

If you have a good steward, they won’t do it. We have ways of making them look like idiots at hearings.
Unless you’re @21savage and have horrible attendance, I would just tell you to call him and tell them you’re not coming to work that day and they’ll be a grievance for them denying your day that should’ve been approved.

I loved calling them out on contractual issues. They always act like they know it all and try to intimidate people. I wasn’t up on every item in the contract, that’s what I had a steward for, but I knew enough to know when management was full of shit. And if I wasn’t sure, I’d find out.

After the last buyout, any manager or on road, who knew what they were doing or could really screw with people is gone. Now it’s just a bunch of snot nosed kids that I can stick their face in their own turds when they do something stupid…. It’s really fun.

I have FMLA. Although Hartford did call me today and told me my 5th day for the other week wasn't approved. We'll see how that goes.

Yep, file the grievance, and when they refuse to retract an unnecessary occurrence from your record the center Manager will have to explain to the labor manager why he thinks it’s OK to willfully, violate the contract.
